Bio : Fred Thompson was born August 19, 1942 in Sheffield, Alabama. He is married to Jeri Kehn Thompson (2002-present); divorced Sarah Knestrickin 1985. Education: Memphis State University, B.S., 1964; Vanderbilt University Law School, J.D., 1967. Practiced law from 1967-1994 and was an actor at various times. Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1969-1972 and Minority counsel for the U.S. Senate Watergate Committee from 1973-1974. Voted in to fill Al Gore's vacant Senate seat in 1994 and re-elected to first and only full term in 1996.
